The top floors of Willis Tower<br \/>\nsway slightly. On the lake, waves rock small boats.<br \/>\nAt sidewalk caf\u00e9s on Printers Row, napkins<br \/>\nrise like kites. Postcards advertising books<br \/>\nand ads for literary societies take wing,<br \/>\nfly down the street following authors and readers.<br \/>\nA gust of wind catches a young woman\u2019s long hair<br \/>\nand short flared skirt as she walks with friends.<br \/>\nSuddenly, I see myself as seventeen, walking in wind,<br \/>\nmy skirt flying up, my face turning scarlet.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>WILDA MORRIS<\/strong> is Workshop Chair of Poets and Patrons of Chicago and a past President of the Illinois State Poetry Society. Her poems have found homes in numerous anthologies, webzines, and print publications, including <em>The Kerf<\/em>, <em>The Ocotillo Review<\/em>, <em>Pangolin Review<\/em>, and <em>Journal of Modern Poetry<\/em>. She has won awards for formal and free verse and haiku. Her second poetry book, <em>Pequod Poems: Gamming with Moby-Dick<\/em>, was published in 2019. Her poetry blog at <a href=\"http:\/\/wildamorris.blogspot.com\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">wildamorris.blogspot.com<\/a> features a monthly poetry contest.
